Abstract

Analysis of the Self is a metapsychological study and a revision of psychoanalytic clinical practices adapted to the liquid modernity and its afflictions. This work draws upon the hypotheses and theses of neo-Freudian psychoanalysts, reinterpreted through the contemporary lens offered by Bauman, in an effort to understand the problems, conflicts, symptoms, and psychic structures of the postmodern self in its relationship with the cybernetic world. The article aims to provide clinical tools and approaches that are adaptable to present-day challenges and flexible in addressing the notion of liquid love.

  • ÉRICO JOÃO DOS SANTOS NETO, Enlevo Academy

    Érico João dos Santos Neto is a clinical psychoanalyst, independent researcher, and specialist in critical theory of contemporary subjectivity. His work explores the intersections between psychoanalysis, digital culture, and the sociology of modernity, with a focus on the postmodern subject, psychic suffering, and symbolic transformations caused by new technologies. He is the author of studies that bridge Freudian metapsychology with Zygmunt Bauman’s liquid modernity paradigm, proposing updated clinical approaches for today’s psychological challenges.
