Author Guidelines

Submission Guidelines – Interapia – Journal of Clinic, Culture and Mental Sciences

Interapia – Journal of Clinic, Culture and Mental Sciences invites authors to submit original and unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, mental health, neuroscience, and health education. Articles must comply with the editorial, ethical, and scientific criteria outlined below.


1. Submission Categories

The journal accepts the following types of contributions:

  • Original Articles

  • Theoretical Essays

  • Experience Reports

  • Literature Reviews

  • Critical Reviews

  • Interviews

  • Commented Translations

  • Letters to the Editor


2. General Formatting Guidelines

  • File format: .doc or .docx

  • Maximum length: 8,000 words (except for reviews and letters)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Title in Portuguese and English

  • Abstract in Portuguese and English (100–250 words), with 3 to 5 keywords

  • Citations and references: ABNT NBR 6023 or APA 7th edition (author–date style)

  • Figures, charts, and tables must be numbered and include explanatory captions


3. Authorship and Collaboration

  • Up to 4 authors per manuscript

  • All authors must be affiliated with an institution (university, research center, school, or clinic) and provide:

    • Full name

    • ORCID (mandatory)

    • Institutional affiliation

    • Contact email


4. Originality and Exclusivity

  • The manuscript must not have been previously published or submitted to another journal.

  • Authors are responsible for the originality of the content and for securing permission for any third-party images, graphs, or content.


5. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo:

  • Preliminary editorial screening

  • Double-blind peer review

Possible outcomes include:

  • Acceptance

  • Acceptance with revisions

  • Rejection with justification


6. Ethical Declarations

  • Authors must submit a Declaration of Responsibility and Originality, available on the journal’s website.

  • Studies involving human subjects must include approval by an Ethics Committee, where applicable.

  • Texts that involve patients or clinical experiences must ensure anonymity and confidentiality.


7. Copyright Policy

  • By submitting, authors grant publication rights under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License (CC BY 4.0).

  • The journal charges no submission or publication fees (Open Access model).


8. Publication Frequency

  • Quarterly publication

  • Continuous submission process

By submitting a manuscript to Interapia – Journal of Clinic, Culture and Mental Sciences, the author(s) declare the following:


Originality and Exclusivity

The manuscript is original, unpublished, and is not under review by any other national or international journal, whether in print or digital format.


Authorship Responsibility

All authors have significantly contributed to the development of the manuscript and take full responsibility for the content presented.

Any third-party contributions that do not constitute co-authorship have been properly acknowledged in the acknowledgments section.


Compliance with the Author Guidelines

The manuscript has been prepared in full compliance with the journal’s Author Guidelines, including formatting, page limits, APA (7th edition) citation style, and the inclusion of abstracts in both Portuguese and English.


Peer Review Process

The article will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Therefore, the author(s) agree to remove any identifying information from the main manuscript file.


Required Submission Documents

The submission includes the following files:

  • Full manuscript without author identification

  • Title page with author information

  • Signed Statement of Responsibility and Originality


Ethics and Human Subjects Research

When applicable, the research was approved by a Research Ethics Committee and complies with all relevant ethical and legal standards.


Publication License

The author(s) agree to publish the article under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).


Publication Fee

In case of acceptance, the author(s) agree to pay the publication fee of R$ 350.00, which will be used exclusively to cover the journal’s editorial services.


Conflict of Interest Disclosure

The author(s) declare that there are no conflicts of interest related to the research, authorship, or publication of the article. If any conflicts exist, they have been duly disclosed.


Acceptance of Editorial Policies

The author(s) are aware of and agree to comply with the journal’s Editorial Policy, Privacy Policy, and Publication Ethics Policy.

Articles

This section publishes original scientific articles, either theoretical or empirical, that contribute to the fields of mental health, psychoanalysis, psychology, education, or culture. All articles undergo double-blind peer review.

Clinical Essays

Publishes theoretical reflections based on clinical practice, critical observations, or innovative viewpoints. Subject to peer review.

Case Studies

Presents detailed clinical reports with theoretical analysis and practical implications. Reviewed by peers.

Reviews

Publishes critical analyses of books, films, events, or materials relevant to the journal's scope. Not subject to peer review.

Editorial

Reserved for introductory texts of each issue, institutional reflections, or messages from the editorial team. Not peer-reviewed.

Letters to the Editor

Space for readers to submit critiques, reflections, or comments on published articles. May be published at the editor’s discretion.
