ABSTRACT
The article examines the defense mechanism of idealization in Freudian psychoanalysis, exploring its role in the development of neuroses and possible therapeutic strategies. Through literature review and analysis of Anna O.’s case, it discusses how idealization serves as a temporary defense against anxiety but may foster psychological distress when persistent.
